Expiring Tenants Might See Double-Digit Growth in Rent for Similar Spaces This Year

CompStak compared current fair market effective rents for 5-year deals to the rents of expiring 60-month leases signed in 3Q/4Q 2009 and Q1/Q2 2010. We determined that across submarkets and building classes, tenants with expiring leases could expect percentage increases in the double digits if they pay today’s going rate for similar spaces.
